Louise Spidel Pacheco, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Lewis and Anna Mae Grimes Spidel.

Louise was raised in Dayton, where she attended St. Joseph Commercial High School. She later pursued higher education at Georgia College in Milledgeville, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree — an accomplishment that reflected her lifelong love of learning and dedication to personal growth.

Louise built a distinguished career with the Department of Defense, serving in the Defense Logistics Agency. Through years of committed service, she exemplified professionalism, integrity, and quiet strength before retiring after a meaningful career supporting those who served the nation.

Beyond her professional life, Louise found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved playing Euchre, reading and music, cherished the elegance of formal English teas, and delighted in flowers — especially daisies. The color yellow reflected her bright and warm spirit, and she could often be found happily eating jellybeans, blowing bubbles, or swinging on her swing set, embracing childlike wonder and joy.

Louise treasured time spent traveling and creating memories with those she loved. She enjoyed many Myrtle Beach trips with her cousin Donna, shared countless adventures with her best friend and looked forward each year to cherished Christmas vacations in Panama City, with her daughter’s family. Louise especially looked forward to the annual Father’s Day weekend Spidel family reunion, lovingly hosted by Tom and Susan Allen, where she celebrated family traditions and togetherness. She also loved visiting Gottwals Books, where her passion for reading flourished.

Known for her generous heart, Louise consistently sacrificed her own needs to give to others. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of love and care. She lived vicariously through the adventures she found and embraced, always eager to try new things such as paintball, fencing, Irish step dancing, and many other experiences that reflected her adventurous spirit and zest for life.

Louise will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family and friends, and the warmth she brought into every room. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her son Dana Eugene Pacheco; great-grandson, Kareem Scott; and brother, Mark Spidel.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Lisa Tonn (Tom); grandchildren, Benjamin Lewis Tonn (Casey), Linda Marie Tonn (MK); Beth Ann Scott (Jalyn), and Trae Smith; great granddaughter, Jaylah Scott; siblings, Susan Allen (Tom) and Guy Spidel (Jenny); sister-in-law, Peggy Spidel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Louise will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Louise Pacheco to Pruitt Health Hospice at 6060 Lakeside Commons Dr, Macon, GA 31210.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@McCulloughFuneralHome via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
