Lt. Col. Jerry G. Norris, U.S. Army (Ret.)

Lt. Col. Jerry G. Norris, U.S. Army (Ret.), 80, a former longtime resident of Warner Robins passed away on the morning of Monday, September 12, 2022.


Born in Durham, North Carolina, on May 13, 1942, Jerry was the son of the late Henry Paul Norris and Geneva Elizabeth Hudson Norris. A Vietnam War veteran, Jerry served with pride and honor for 24 years in the United States Army. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Following his military career, Jerry served as a materials manager at the Kellogg Company until his final retirement. Jerry dedicated his life to serving others and was of the Baptist faith.


In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Bill Criswell; and sister, Sandra McMurray.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 53 years, Rita Rauch Norris; children, Carmen Criswell of Yatesville, Georgia; and Michael P. Norris (Tasha) of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandchildren, Molly Henry (Max) of Marietta, Georgia, Kaylie Norris of Nashville, Tennessee, Sailor Norris of Cleveland, Tennessee; and sister, Brenda Robertson (Ken) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; great-grandson, Zig Michael of Marietta, Georgia; nephews, Scott McMurray and Sean McMurray (Christy) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.


A memorial service honoring the life of Jerry with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in Andersonville National Cemetery.
