Luther "Buddy" Clarence Bass, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Buddy was born on February 27, 1943, in Telfair County, Georgia. From an early age, he demonstrated the determination and work ethic that would define his life. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1961, achieving the remarkable distinction of twelve years of perfect attendance. During his school years, he was known as a hustler on the basketball court and a valued teammate whose dedication and spirit earned the respect of those around him.

Following graduation, Buddy began a successful career with Xerox Corporation, where he worked as a field engineer for 35 years before retiring. Never one to sit still, he later became co-founder of Super Lawn Trucks, where he spent another decade helping build a successful business through hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance.

Throughout the Bonaire community, Buddy was known as the man who could fix anything. Gifted with his hands and blessed with an inquisitive mind, he found great joy in solving problems, repairing equipment, and helping others. In retirement, his shop in Bonaire became a gathering place where friends stopped by daily to enjoy fellowship, swap stories, discuss current events, and share laughter. The friendships forged there became one of the great joys of his later years.

Buddy loved the outdoors and treasured every opportunity to hunt, fish, and camp with family and friends. Whether around a campfire, on the water, or in the woods, he created countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Above all else, Buddy was a family man. Nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by those he loved. He devoted himself to his family and found his greatest fulfillment in spending time with them, sharing life's moments both big and small. His love, guidance, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Buddy leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, friendship, and unwavering devotion to family. He touched the lives of many through his generosity, his willingness to help others, and his genuine love for people. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew “Jack” Jackson Bass and Valeria “Peanut” Selph Blankenship.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 63 years, Peggy W. Bass; children, Tony Bass (Lynn), Terri Hunt (Nathan), and Pam Lashley (Benjy); grandchildren, Harley Hunt, Hannah Hunt, Meredith Lashley, Joseph Lashley, Holly Bass, and Maxx Bass; and sister, Jackie Fellows.
