Maggie Johnson, 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Champaign, Illinois.
Maggie was born on June 18, 1931 in Wrightsville, Georgia and called Warner Robins her home for most of her life. She retired from Kellwood Company after several years of dedicated service and also attended Houston Lake Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and gardening for which she had a green thumb. She also loved canning, especially peaches, and everyone loved her buttermilk biscuits. Maggie was a selfless person who loved serving others, visiting family and friends, and loved her grandchildren to the moon and back.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Alice Wilson Copeland; her son, Gerald Allen Johnson; her sister, Jimmie Scarborough; and her brother, Jerry Copeland.
Maggie's memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Perry Johnson (Sandra) of Macon and Judy Taylor (Denny) of Champaign, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Green of Brunswick, Tony Johnson (Julia) of Bonaire, Trevor Taylor (Teitah) of Champaign, Illinois, Charis Coli (Terry) of Glendale, California, Nathan Taylor (Rachel) of Muncie, Indiana, Shane Johnson of Ruckersville, Virginia, and Angela Bryant (Aaron) of St. Augustine, Florida; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, James Copeland of Titusville, Florida; sisters, Inell Burns of Cocoa, Florida and Joyce Reynolds of Titusville, Florida; and a number of adoring nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. After the service, Ms. Johnson will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
