Maj. Robert "Bob" Evan Engelauf, Usaf (Ret.)

In the morning hours of Wednesday, July 6, 2016, 77-year-old Bob Engelauf passed away at Putnam General Hospital.

Bob was born on December 30, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Robert and Lura Smith Engelauf. With great pride and honor he served 23 years in the United States Air Force, including time during the Vietnam War, before retiring with the rank of Major. Bob was also a graduate of Georgia College where he received his Master's Degree.

Following his military career, Bob was a long time insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Agency, before becoming a Self-Employed Insurance Agent. He was also a past President of Peachbelt and NAIFA. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who always enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and enjoyed "lake life".

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Engelauf of Eatonton; Rhonda Engelauf-Allen (Kenny) of Middleburg, Florida; Robert Engelauf (Helena) of Macon; grandsons, Robert J. and Richard Evan Engelauf; sister, Sue Messham (Robert) of Miamisburg, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and his dog "Sammy".

Visitation with Bob's family will be Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in the Chapel of McCullough. At the family's request burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bob Engelauf to Hospice Care Options, 811 N. Cobb Street Suite 3, Milledgeville, Ga 31061.
