Marcel Joseph Baril, age 64, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. Born on April 14, 1962, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Marcel lived a life defined by love, loyalty, service, and family.
For 41 wonderful years, Marcel was the devoted husband and best friend of Sandy Baril. Together they built a beautiful life centered around love, laughter, and family traditions that will forever be cherished. He was a proud and loving father, and nothing brought him more joy than being “Papa” and “Pepe.” His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent making memories with them.
Marcel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an AGE Ranger for 23 years, dedicating his life to service with honor and commitment. Following his military retirement, he continued serving through Civil Service with DLA for 20 more years. His work ethic, discipline, and dedication were admired by everyone who knew him.
A true family man at heart, Marcel loved traveling with his family, creating adventures and lasting memories that will be carried on for generations. Whether it was a family vacation, a backyard gathering, or simply spending time together, Marcel’s happiest moments were those shared with the people he loved most.
Marcel was also a proud Boston sports fan through and through. He loved cheering on the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, and Boston Celtics, never missing an opportunity to celebrate his favorite teams with passion and excitement.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandy Baril; his children Nicole Dowling and Marc Baril; daughter-in-law Jennifer Baril; his cherished grandchildren Lilly, Abby, Maddy, Brayden, Brayleigh, Makayla, Liliana, and Dominick; his siblings Claire Boisvert and Ronald Baril; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss his strength, humor, and loving heart.
Marcel was preceded in death by his mother, Helene Baril; his father, Marcellin Baril; and his beloved son-in-law, William Dowling.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, Marcel’s legacy of love, devotion, strength, and family will live on in all who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will forever be treasured.
