Obituary

We sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, aunt, and friend, Margaret Marie Stuart Henderson. Margaret passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in Forsyth, Georgia, on May 5, 1938, Margaret was the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Cheek Stuart. She was raised in Macon, Georgia, where she graduated from Miller High School in 1956. Margaret dedicated 30 years of service at Robins Air Force Base, serving as a Records Manager for the Air Force Reserve Command before retiring in 1994.

Margaret was a giving, generous, loyal, and devoted caretaker whose mission in life was to care for those in need. She had a heart for people and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. She often welcomed those without local family into her home for Thanksgiving, drove people to appointments, and was always there when someone needed a helping hand. Margaret never judged others; she loved people unconditionally and treated everyone with kindness and compassion.

For many years, Margaret lovingly cared for her sister and other family members. She also faithfully served as a member of Houston Heights Baptist Church in Macon, where she shared her gift of cooking by preparing meals for homecomings, funeral services, and many special occasions hosted by the church. Her cooking was a true expression of her love, and it was something no one who knew her could ever forget.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, James Stuart and Sandra Williams.

Margaret’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Danny Henderson of Bonaire and Lisa Weaver (Franky) of Fort Valley; her many adoring nieces and nephews; and her beloved adopted family, Linda Arnold and her daughters, Ellie and Lucy.

Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, service, and compassion. She gave so much of herself to others, and the countless lives she touched will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Margaret’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Partain officiating. Afterward, Margaret will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/@McCulloughFuneralHome via the McCullough Funeral Home’s YouTube page.
