Margaret J. Scuderi (Peggy), 85, passed away peacefully at home from an extended illness on July 6, 2024. Peggy’s visitation will be at McCullough’s Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. The service will immediately follow in the chapel officiated by Monsignor Fred Nijem and Deacon Ron Simons. The burial will be at Parkway Memorial Gardens on Carl Vinson Parkway following the service.

Peggy was born on April 9, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Margaret and James Sippel. Peggy was a life-long Catholic and attended Catholic schools her entire life. In 1956, she graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in Pittsburgh. After high school, Peggy moved to New York City to work for Eastern Airlines. She met her future husband, Richard, on a blind date and so began a life of love.

Peggy and Richard married in April 1960, and Peggy’s life as a military wife began. They were blessed with three children: Pam, Rich, and Patti. For 30 years, Peggy and Rich moved their family across the United States including a tour in Alaska. Wherever the family moved, Peggy made a home for her family and worked as a realtor in many states. Upon their final assignment at Robins Air Force Base, Peggy worked for several years as an administrative assistant on the base. Richard retired in 1990, and Warner Robins became home. Peggy loved to bowl, play bridge, and work in her yard, but mostly, Peggy loved to dance. For many years, Peggy joined her friends at Powersville Opry every Saturday night. She loved her family and was proud of all the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

Peggy is predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard, her parents, and her sister, Mary Lou Skaugen.

Peggy has left behind a legacy of love with her three children, Pamela (Daniel) Knauer, Richard (Melanie) Scuderi, and Patti (Trent) Carriker; her grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Hale, Christopher (Dara) Scuderi, Kaitlyn (Conrad) Boron, Philip (Kelli) Knauer, Timothy James Scuderi, Dalton (Taylor) Carriker, and Carson (Tanner) Phillips; her great-grandchildren, Blakely, Emerysn, Olivia, Tristan, Jack Henry, Nico, Dani Rose, Margo James, Callahan, and Anthony Joseph; her step-grandchildren, Chelsea (Stephen) Johnston and Cory Day; and her step-great-grandchildren: Conley, Arilyn, and Ellery.

The family would like to thank Heart of Georgia Hospice and Hands of Hope for their care and compassion. We would especially like to thank Peggy’s nurses, Lindsey and Allison, as well as Peggy’s wonderful caregivers, Ms. Lenora, Ms. Lillian, and Ms. Brenda. Flowers are welcome and/or donations can be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice and Sacred Heart Church Building Fund.
