Margie Louise Barringer

October 18, 1943 — January 7, 2025

Bonaire

Margie Louise Barringer, 81, returned home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Margie, born Rachel Louise Riggins on October 18, 1943, in Molena, Georgia, came into the world under extraordinary circumstances. After the tragic passing of her biological mother during childbirth, she was lovingly adopted as an infant by a neighbor, the late John Thomas and Ida Mae Pullins, who raised her with care and devotion.

A cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, Margie had a gift for bringing people together and creating lasting memories. Her family was her pride and joy, and she relished every moment spent with them. A dedicated Christian, Margie truly loved her Lord and magnified Him in all that she did.

Margie’s free spirit and zest for life were evident in her favorite pastimes. She found delight in playing games, nurturing her beloved houseplants, watching her red birds in the yard, and traveling. Beach destinations like Santa Rosa and Hilton Head held a special place in her heart, where she found tranquility and joy. Margie’s kindness, love, and adventurous spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Jessie Riggins, Bennie Riggins, and Carlton Pullins.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” Barringer; children, Richard Lonnie Thomas (JoAnn), Timothy Scott Thomas (Brandi), and Chantel Marie Barringer (Parish Murphy); grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas (Anastasia Buckles), Skyler Thomas (Dawson Ezell), Abigail Thomas (Ethan Blair), Tiffany Dooley, Kimberly Porter (Glenn), Christopher Reynolds, and Brittany Whitehead (Reza); sister-in-law, Connie Barringer TeSelle (John), along with 14 great-grandchildren, her grand-dog, Remi Elle, and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Senter officiating. Afterward, Margie will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
