Maria Menjes- Bryant

In the early morning hours of Thursday, November 16, 2017, Maria Menjes-Bryant, age 64, entered into eternal rest while surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Maria graduated from Mioc High School and moved to Angeles City to work in the restaurant industry. She met her first husband, John Menjes and together they moved around with his Air Force career eventually settling in Warner Robins. There, Maria was a personal assistant of many years to Dr. Hatem Asad. On December 31, 2006, she married Colbert Bryant. A devoted wife and homemaker, Maria was a longtime faithful member of Central Baptist Church and with the International Social Ministry Club. In her free time, she loved gardening and was able to grow tropical plants in her yard. Maria will be remembered by all who knew her as a loyal wife, mother, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Estaban and Iluminada Abogutal; a brother; and a granddaughter.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 10 years, Colbert Wallace Bryant of Warner Robins; children, Christine Menjes Ortega (Robert) of Southern Pines, North Carolina, John Robert Menjes of Florida, Darrell Menjes, Yuri Menjes, and Frederick Bryant, all of Warner Robins, and Christina Bryant of Savannah; grandchildren, Alex, John Aaron, Isabella, Raiden, Faith, Grace, John Awesome, Ava and Bella, Frederick, Jr., and Maxwell; and eleven siblings.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a reception following at the Farmhouse at McCullough. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Maria will be laid to rest in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville at 1:00 p.m.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Maria Menjes-Bryant to St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
