Maria Williams

Maria Williams, age 88, passed away on January 12, 2026.

Maria was born on August 8, 1937, in El Paso, Texas, to the late Juan Baulbuena and Ramona Queredo.

A devoted Catholic, Maria raised her family in the Catholic faith and lived her life guided by compassion, generosity and service to others. She was known for her warm and giving spirit, always willing to help and care for those around her. Maria deeply cherished her friendships and found great joy in spending time with the people she loved.

She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and visiting casinos. Activities that brought her much happiness over the years. Maria also had a special love for her dogs, especially her beloved “Peggy Lou,” who brought her constant companionship and comfort.

Maria will be remembered for her kindness, her faith and the love she freely gave to everyone she met. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children; Kenneth Darkes (Debra), Sandra Godwin, Betty Cavins Rape and Reynolds L. Cavins, Jr., grandchildren; Kristy Lee Darkes, Kenneth C. Darkes II, Bobbie Jo Cook (Buddy), Kendra Maria Ford (Bryan), Charles Clifford Cavins (Kathy), Kisha Cavins, Reynolds L. Cavin III and Devin Cavins, her brothers, Luis Baulbena and Robert Baulbena, her 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of extend family and friends.

Maria is preceded in death by her first husband, Reynolds Leon Cavins, Sr., her son, Roger Lee Darkes, her brothers, Larry Baulbuena, Marcus Baulbena and Bobby Baulbena.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Maria will be laid to rest at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
