Marjorie Elizabeth Wallen, 89, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2007.
Mrs. Wallen was born on November, 2, 1917 in Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and The Joy Sunday School Class. Her husband, Harold Otto Wallen, Sr., her parents, Lawrence and Etta Schmidt, and her brother, Lawrence Schmidt, Jr., all preceded her in death. Mrs. Wallen retired as a school cook from New Vienna Elementary and was also a retired Head Start teacher from Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Lois Wills, Kathleen; Barbara Jentz (Bill), Warner Robins; Harold Wallen, Jr. (Kathy), Lynchburg, Ohio; and Malcolm Wallen (Dona), Newnan; sister, Dorothy Dahling, Dayton, Ohio; brother, Joseph Schmidt, Dayton, Ohio, sister, Charlotte Dalton, Germanton, Ohio; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, June 15, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice Care Options 1125 Walnut Street Macon, Georgia 31201, or to Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town, 300 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 7000, Boys Town, NE 68010, or to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067.
