Mark Edward Chambers, loving husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully entered into eternal rest on the evening of Friday, October 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 72 years old.
Mark was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on June 25, 1953, to the late Harold Edward and Barbara Ann Chambers. A 1971 graduate of Warner Robins High School, he joined the Warner Robins Fire Department shortly after graduation. Mark dedicated 32 years of service to protecting his community before retiring as a respected firefighter. In addition to his career in fire service, he worked part-time for over 20 years with Residential Builder Supply.
A self-proclaimed “talker,” his sociable nature and welcoming smile meant he never met a stranger. When not working, Mark found joy in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He was a devoted and present grandfather who made lasting memories with each of them.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Chambers.
He leaves behind many cherished memories with his loving wife, Gloria Chambers of Perry; his son, Mitchell Chambers of Perry; and his stepdaughter, Sonya Thompson (Brian) of Ellaville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ella and Hunter Chambers, both of Perry; his sister, Elaine Daniel (Tommy) of Bonaire; step-grandchildren, Tyler Sledge (Courtney) of Warner Robins, Camryn Lynn (Tyler) of Americus, and Miranda Thompson of Statesboro; four step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
