June 4, 1951 — November 16, 2024

On the night of Saturday, November 16, 2024, Mark Sanderson, 73, entered into the gates of heaven. 

 Mark was born on June 4, 1951, in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Paul and Frances Fox Sanderson. Mark lived a life of quiet dedication, kindness and service to others.

 Mark graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1969, where he was an active member of the percussion ensemble and a talented diver on the swim team. He went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky in 1975 before proudly serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force. As an electronic warfare officer aboard the C-130, he demonstrated skill, discipline, and commitment to his country. Following his military service, Mark built a successful career as a system administrator with Northrop Grumman, where his expertise and professionalism were highly respected. In 1989, Mark married his love, Elizabeth Mead Sanderson, whom he shared many wonderful years until her passing in 2020. Mark pursued hobbies in photography, computers and writing which reflected his creative nature. An animal lover, he cherished his cats and their companionship. Despite being quiet and reserved, Mark’s generosity and kindness were evident in his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.

 His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter; Tiffany Sanderson (fiancé, Zach Krog), stepson, Christian Mahar; stepdaughter, Lacy Mead and her daughter, Elyssa Mead, and brother, Gary Sanderson (Barbara) and their children, Parke and Alan Sanderson.

At the family’s request the services will be held at a later date.
