Markus Lee Jackson

Markus Lee Jackson, 58, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

Mr. Jackson was born on January 12, 1968 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Allen “Cecil” and Laura Gregory Jackson. After completing high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Subsequent to his military service, Mr. Jackson was a union ironworker with Ironworkers Local 292 in South Bend, Indiana for thirty-one years. Sci-fi movies were always his choice on a free evening. He also enjoyed basketball, and he loved driving his Camaro ZL1. His greatest pleasure in life, however, came from time spent with his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, LaShadae; and his brothers, Allen Jackson, Jr., Michael Jackson, and Larry Jackson.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of 31 years, Dawn M. Jackson; his children, Laura Jackson, Leo Davis, Jr., Markus Allen Jackson, and Jarius Jackson; his six grandchildren, DaeLeanna, DaeJanae, DaeKierra, David, Julien, and Leila; his sisters, Carolyn Williams and Beverly Weakley; his special nephew/brother, Jason Jackson; as well as a host of other extended family and friends.

Visitation with Mr. Jackson’s family will be Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at McCullough Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating his life will immediately follow at 12:00 noon in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. in Georgia Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
