Martha Nell Queen Thomas

Martha Nell Queen Thomas, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.

Martha was born to Isaac and Lillie Mae Queen on May 5, 1932 in Fry, Georgia, located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Of the Baptist faith, she was the youngest of seven children and attended Fannin County High School. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Earl L. “Toby” Thomas, Jr. After Toby served in the U.S. Navy, he obtained a job at Delta Airlines and they moved to Hapeville, Georgia. In 1960, they moved to Forest Park, Georgia and that is where they made their home and raised their three children. Martha was a homemaker and loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.

Martha is survived by her three children, Dianne Sudduth, Jeff Thomas, and Laura Gentry (Kent); seven grandchildren, Jonathan Sudduth, Jennifer Bruce, Richard Thomas, Greg Gentry, Karie Morgan, Katie Shell, and Kelly Gentry; seven great-children; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cleghorn officiating. Martha will be laid to rest at a later date in Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Georgia.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Martha to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mrs. Thomas’s arrangements.
