Mary Lenora Clements entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.
Born on November 30, 1940, in Macon, Georgia, Lenora spent her childhood in Macon, where she attended A. L. Miller School for Girls before graduating from McEvoy High School in 1960. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, George Clements, beginning a remarkable journey together that would span more than 65½ years. Their marriage was built on unwavering love, faith, friendship, and a deep devotion to one another, serving as an inspiration to everyone who knew them. They were rarely apart and often remarked that they simply couldn't imagine life without the other.
As they built their family together, Lenora also built a distinguished career, working for Macon Gynecology, Obstetrics & Associates for forty-five years. Through her insurance and administrative work, she became known for her dedication, professionalism, and caring nature, earning the respect and appreciation of both her coworkers and countless patients before retiring after many years of faithful service.
Lenora and George truly enjoyed life together. They shared a passion for square dancing and belonged to several square dance clubs, traveling throughout the region to participate in events and make lifelong friendships along the way. They also treasured traveling together, especially taking cruises and visiting the mountains, creating countless memories side by side.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Lenora was a member of Centerville First Baptist Church. Her faith guided the way she lived each day, treating others with kindness, grace, and compassion.
Lenora was always impeccably put together. Whether running errands or attending church, she took pride in her appearance, always beautifully dressed with her hair and nails done. She carried herself with quiet elegance, yet beneath that polished exterior was a heart full of warmth. She had a gentle spirit, welcomed everyone with a friendly smile, and had a remarkable way of making people feel cared for.
Love was something Lenora expressed through quiet acts of service every single day. She devoted herself to her family in countless ways, always making sure everyone was comfortable, cared for, and never in need of anything. George was the recipient of that loving attention every day of their marriage. She thoughtfully looked after even the smallest details of his well-being, quietly anticipating his needs before he ever had to ask. It was one of the many ways she expressed her love, and George knew every day just how deeply he was cherished.
Above all else, Lenora's greatest joy was her family. Nothing brought her more happiness than her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She spoke of them with endless pride and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, celebrating each milestone and creating precious memories together. She also shared a beautiful bond with her daughter, whose love and friendship meant the world to her. Her entire family was the center of her heart, and she poured her love into each of them every single day.
Though Lenora will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely, the example she set through her marriage, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, Ross L. Kitchens and Minnie Dorough Pendley.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, George Clements; daughter, Julie Epps (Ricky); grandchildren, Crystal Garrison (Travis), Chandler Epps, and Cameron Epps; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Joda (Gabriel), Payton Jackson, and Everett Garrison.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Lenora will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
