Mary Obert Tressler, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 14, 1932, in Plattsburgh, New York, Mary lived a full and generous life, touching many hearts with her warmth, kindness, and unshakable love for her family and others.

Over the years, Mary held a variety of roles that showcased her strong work ethic and compassionate spirit. She began as a candy striper at a local hospital, served customers with a smile at Woolworths as a counter clerk, and later worked with McIntosh Apples. Her time as Assistant Manager at Olympia Skate Center was a point of pride, as was her work nurturing young minds at Meadowdale Learning Center. Mary also served as a dedicated counselor for the Boy Scouts, where her guidance and commitment left a lasting impact on many young lives. In recognition of her exceptional volunteer service, she was honored with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award—one of the highest awards given to adult leaders in scouting. She was also a devoted homemaker, creating a welcoming home full of love and laughter.

Mary had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys. She loved exploring flea markets and antique shops, always on the lookout for treasures and stories from the past. She cherished day trips with loved ones and especially delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life.

Sunday family meals were a cherished tradition, where Mary’s warmth and cooking brought everyone together. Holidays were a special highlight—she had a true gift for decorating and went all out for Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. Her festive spirit earned her the "Best Decorated Christmas Home" award from Centerville two years in a row.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Tressler of Bobtown, PA and mother, Lydia Jakubiec of Fredonia, NY.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Mark Tressler of Warner Robins, GA, Dale Tressler (Dawn) of Byron, GA, and Gary Tressler (Michel) of Catawba, NC; grandchildren, Aidan, David (Brandi), Kris, Landon, and Mathew.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a memorial service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Mary will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
