Maurice Moneuea Wilkins

Maurice "Monte" Wilkins, 50, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2009.

Mr. Wilkins was born on July 24, 1958 in Macon. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1976 and was a self-employed carpenter. Of the Protestant Faith, he attended New Life Baptist Church. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed music, loved to cook, and spend time with his family. His son, Josheuea D. Wilkins, father, Everett Berton Wilkins, brother, Kerry Wilkins, and grandmother, Mary Kate Peters, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Connie Mishoe Wilkins; mother, Aluara Peters Wilkins; sons, Jeremy Wilkins, Japan, and Christopher M. (LeAnn) Widener, Sr., Columbia, South Carolina; daughters, Naomi R. Widener and Tiffany M. Widener, both Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Heather Wilkins, Gay, Georgia; sister, Charmin (Crayton) Young, Washington, Georgia; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverends James McCullough and David Wilkins officiating.
