Maxine “Mickey” M. Meier, 97, entered into rest on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Maxine was born on October 30, 1927, in Carrizozo, New Mexico, to the late John Wesley Miller and Anna Lee Dean Miller. In her early childhood, her family relocated to El Paso, Texas, where she spent most of her life and built lasting roots.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Maxine cherished her family above all else. She found her greatest joy in encouraging her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to live lives filled with love, faith, and success. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, and one of her proudest moments was accepting the Lord as her personal Savior. A faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, she joyfully sang in the choir and faithfully served as co-chair of the Benevolence Committee.
In her professional career, Maxine worked in the accounting department of the Texas Animal Health Commission and also devoted her time to public service by assisting with both state and national elections. Beyond her work and service, she was a gifted and creative woman who enjoyed oil painting, sewing, reading, music, and gardening. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Lester R. McNair, second husband, Ralph J. Meier, and siblings, John Dean Miller and Asa Reed Miller.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughter, Lee Ann M. Pritchett (Jim Pritchett, Lt. Col., USAF, Ret.) of Warner Robins, Georgia; grandchildren, Anna Lynn P. Richardson (Dr. Condy Richardson), and James Ray Pritchett, Maj., USAF, Ret. (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Ruth Anna Richardson, Condy A. Richardson, Jr., Mary Claire Pritchett, Madalynn Marie Pritchett, Rebecca Lynn Richardson, Lauren Rae Pritchett, and James Davis Pritchett; stepson, Gary Meier (Tammy); along with step-grandchildren, Jillian Meier-Golding and Christi Meier.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Forest Oaks Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin, Texas, where Maxine will be laid to rest.
