The world has lost one of the most phenomenal men you would have ever met.
On Sunday evening, February 11, 2024, Deacon Michael K. Zanders answered the call of our Lord and Savior. He was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Walker Tinsley and Charlie Mae Zanders. He attended the Peach County public school system and graudated from Peach County High School in 1981 with honors. He also furthered his education by attending college, majoring in business and electronics. He was employed by several difference companies before becoming and indpendent contractor, where he traveled from state to state. With his huge personality, he shared it with everyone he met; a stranger to no one. Everyone knew him for his comedy and powerful singing voice. He has shared the stage with some of the greatest gospel singers included Tasha Cobbs Leonard, World Renoun Known Quartet Group, etc.
Michael was united in Holy Matrimony for over 37 years to his beautiful, devoted wife, Betty J. Hodges Zanders. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
Michael leaves his legacy and memories to his three children, Travoris J. Zanders (Reneisha), Semoria S. Zanders Clark, and Dymon D. Zanders; three grandchildren, Kenyon Mychal Aurez Zanders, Dakota Alexander Carswell, and Brooklyn Destiny Clark; three brothers, Robert Tinsley (Denise) of Macon, GA, Raymond Zanders, and Waymond Zanders, both of Byron, GA; five sisters, Ruth Gordon, and Erica Grant (Leroy), both of Atlanta, GA, Rosa Zanders of Centerville, GA, Emily Lowe of Warner Robins, GA, and Lacresha Hodges (Zelvin) of Byron, GA; his devoted friends, Kelvin Rumph, Darren Lowe, Tyrone, Pritchett, Eugene Douglas, Malcolm Walker, Daron Thomas; his extended family from Irwinton, GA; one maternal aunt, Annie L Merion of Byron, GA; brother-in-law, Nero Hodges (Marilyn); sisters-in-law, Elizabeth (Charlie) Canady, Lessie Bell Jackson (Knight), Sharon Richardson (Willie), Amie Grace (Bruce), Rosalyn Moore, Jeanette Smith, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Greater Allen Temple AME Church. Afterward, Michael will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
