MSgt. Conny Ellis Chandler, USAF (Ret.), entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 31, 2025, just two days before his 79th birthday.
Born on August 2, 1946, Conny was the son of the late Sequard Ellis Chandler and Ruth Morgan Chandler. He honorably served his country as a member of the United States Air Force for several years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant before his retirement. Following a distinguished military career, he continued his commitment to public service through his work with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and retired once more after many years of dedicated service.
Conny lived life to the fullest. He was a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan, and a faithful viewer of his favorite show, The Price Is Right (often planning his mornings around its airtime.) He also found adventure in his passion for scuba diving.
A true car enthusiast, Conny cherished attending car shows and took great pride in his own classic 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air; a vehicle he maintained with the utmost care and affection. His love of vintage automobiles was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of his appreciation for timeless beauty and craftsmanship.
More than anything, Conny was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in the company of his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Conny’s love will be remembered always, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Conny was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sharon Elaine Chandler; and son-in-law, John Hamrick.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Leslie Hamrick and Dana McGlamery (Kyle); grandchildren, Sydney Hamrick, Nash Hamrick, and Jacob McGlamery; as well as his siblings, Jerry Chandler (Nanci Ventura), Barney Chandler (Vicki), Deborah Stubbs (Roland).
A visitation with family and friends be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.
