MSgt. Robert “Bob” Bellinger Pinckney, USAF (Ret.), 82, entered into rest on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Robert was born on December 15, 1942, in Bluffton, South Carolina, to the late William E. Pinckney, Jr. and May Rivers Pinckney. After graduating high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country, including a tour in Vietnam, before retiring from military service. He later continued his dedication to aviation as an Aircraft Planner at Robins Air Force Base, a role he held for 20 years.

Robert had a true servant’s heart. He was deeply committed to helping others, generously supporting numerous charitable organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Red Cross. His devotion also extended to his faith community as a longtime, faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was always willing to lend a hand.

In Robert's early years, he was raised on the river where he enjoyed fishing, shrimping, hunting, as well as enjoying the Colleton River, and his family farm. In his free time, Robert was an avid golfer who cherished time spent on the green as well as quality moments with his loved ones. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering sense of duty will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Frances Pinckney, son, Sam Shirley, and 8 brothers and sisters.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Bobbi Jo Creamer (David), Jackie Trail (Tom), Mary Hastings, and Joyce Bush; brother, Frank Pinckney and sister-in-law, Agnes Pinckney, along with 11 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation immediately following until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Robert will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with full military honors.
