MSgt. Stephen G. Morgan, USAF (Ret.) was born October 1933, in Ronceverte, WV, to the late W. Jennings Morgan and Viola Morgan. As a caring family member, Steve grew up looking out for his siblings. He was always a kind, thoughtful and concerned brother.

Steve was also a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was of the Baptist faith and loved his family with all his heart. Steve found peace while being embraced by family, friends and nature. Just as he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and courage. Steve wanted to spend time with his family and his strength was immeasurable and a test of our own. His presence will be dearly missed by all those he held dear.

Steve loved to swim and fish in the Greenbrier River. He spent his adolescent years with family and friends in the hills of West Virginia. Following his graduation from Ronceverte H.S., he worked for Ripco Produce. In 1955, Steve enlisted in the United Air Force and served with pride and honor for 22 years. He traveled to many countries while serving HIS country and remained an airman at heart. He was a member of Sam Davis Lodge #661, Smyrna, TN. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked 17 years with the Holiday Inn Corp. Then he became an entrepreneur and carved his own path.

Steve met Lynda McElwain of Renick, WV in 1953, they married and had three children. Steve lost his father in 1981, and he took care of his mother who passed away in 2010, and his younger brother until his own health declined.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kathy M. Brown; three sisters, Nancy Morgan, Belle Hodges and Leta Judy and a brother, Zack Morgan.

Left to cherish the memories they made with Steve are his loving wife Lynda, a son, Stephen Jr. (Katherine) and daughter Kristy M. Tarr (Chuck), four grandsons, Stephen Lee Morgan, Clarence Eldridge Ill (Tripp), Justin Morgan and Kristopher Tarr, five great grandchildren, a brother Isaac Morgan and several nieces and nephews.
