Myrtis Laverne Speaks, 74, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

Myrtis was born on August 17, 1949, in Holly Springs, Mississippi to the late Abrom and Lizzie Cook. She was an American Patriot who loved her country. Often a helper, Myrtis could be found offering a helping hand whenever she was able, looking out for those she loved or volunteering to do charity work wherever she saw the need. She loved her family dearly and held them close to her heart. In her free time, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and cooking for friends and family. Her presence will be deeply missed by those she held dear.

In addition to her parents, Myrtis was preceded in death by her siblings, Van Dole Cook and Connie Smith.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons, Jeffery Crook (Andrea), and Robert Crook (Erika); grandchildren, Martin Crook, Michael Crook, Abbie Crook, and Ayla Crook; and brother, Curtis Cook, Jr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A graveside service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Myrtis will be laid to rest.
