Nancy Wright Borders, a woman whose life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and a goodness that touched everyone who knew her, entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2026.
Born in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Hurshell and Sue Wright. From an early age, she carried within her a steady determination and a kind spirit that would become the foundation of her life’s journey.
Her faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of who she was. Nancy was faithful and dependable; someone others could always count on. She lived her beliefs daily, not loudly, but consistently—through kindness, humility, and service to others.
Nancy built a respected career as a CPA with Tucker & Co., where her strong work ethic and reliability earned the trust of colleagues and clients alike. She was a hard worker in every sense—resilient, disciplined, and an overcomer who faced life’s challenges with courage and grace.
But beyond her accomplishments, it was Nancy’s character that truly defined her. She was known for being non-judgmental, offering kindness freely and loving others without condition. Her presence brought comfort, her words carried wisdom, and her actions reflected a life rooted in compassion.
Nancy was a devoted mother whose love knew no bounds. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life—the center of her world—and she poured into them a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will continue for generations.
Time and again, those who knew her best return to one simple word to describe her: wise. She had a remarkable gift for offering Godly wisdom, sharing guidance rooted in her faith in everyday moments. No matter the situation, she was someone others could turn to, and she always responded with insight, care, and truth. What made her especially cherished was the gentle way she gave that wisdom—never forceful, always kind, and filled with grace.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Steven Borders (Sherry) of Ft. Mill, South Carolina, Jennifer Borders, Richmond Hill, Georgia, Brett Borders (Misty) of Byron, Georgia, and Emily Robertson (Matt) of Richmond Hill, Georgia; grandchildren, Lydia Borders, Lucas Borders, Ava Borders, Robert Borders, Asher Robertson, and Saylor Robertson; siblings, Patrick Wright (Caylie) of Johnson City, Tennessee and Doris McWhorter (John) of Houston, Texas; former husband, Mike Borders of Byron, Georgia; and former mother-in-law, Edna Borders of Byron, Georgia.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Nancy will be laid to rest privately.
