Nancy Ditterline St. John

December 18, 1949 — March 10, 2024

Lizella

Nancy Ditterline St. John, 74, went to be with her Lord in heaven, joining her loved ones who passed before her on Sunday, March 10, 2024.

Nancy was born on December 18, 1949, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to the late Roy and Clydie Ditterline. Much of her childhood was spent in San Antonio, Texas until her family relocated to Warner Robins, Georgia in 1966. While attending Warner Robins High School, she played flute in the band, and was a part of both the chorus and the Follies; she went on to graduate in 1968. From there, she attended Georgia College for a time, then worked as a bookkeeper for Wesleyan College, which she would do for 13 years. Wesleyan College allowed her to take classes during her employment, which garnered her a bachelor's degree in English. She went on to work as a bookkeeper for both The Girl Scouts for 5 years and Mercer University for 20+ years.

Nancy had a true servant’s heart; she was always willing to help and give to others, making many friends at all the places she worked along the way. Family was very important to her; she truly relished any time she could spend with them. She also enjoyed mini reunions with her college friends. She was a faithful woman and longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed taking care of her plants, fishing, camping, singing, playing guitar, collecting sun catchers, photography, and traveling to the beach or the mountains. She would often say that Mexico Beach, FL was her “Happy Place”.   Her joyful presence will be deeply missed by those she held most dear.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Garland, brother-in-law, Billy W. Reynolds, and great-niece, Kyndal Reynolds.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Robert “Bob” St. John; sister, Judy D. Reynolds; brother-in-law, David T. Garland; nieces and nephews, Heather Daniels, Katie Reynolds, Matthew D. Garland (Charlotte), Amy Shepherd (Todd), and Christy Garland (Mike Behnke); great-nieces and great-nephews, Kingston Reynolds, Tucker Garland, Ansley Garland, Mary Clark Garland, Charlie Garland, and Chandler, Hayley, and Will Shepherd; and great-great-nephew, Keagyn Clyde Reynolds.
