Noris Quintero Herrera, 85, entered into rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Noris Herrera, born on March 18, 1940, in San José, Costa Rica, passed away peacefully. She lived a life full of love, faith, and remarkable accomplishments.
Noris began her career as a certified nursing assistant, working with children in the pediatric ward in Costa Rica. With a heart full of dreams for a better future, she migrated to the United States, where she truly embodied the American Dream. She went on to open three successful restaurants in California alongside our father, Edwin Herrera, where her hard work and entrepreneurial spirit flourished.
Her love for family was unwavering, and she cherished every moment with her loved ones. Noris was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of joy, warmth, and love. She will forever be remembered singing the nursery rhyme Los Pollitos to three generations, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who heard it.
A devout Catholic, Noris prayed the rosary daily, seeking the protection of Mary over her family. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life.
Noris is preceded in death by her parents, Rodrigo Quintero Fonseca and Irma Montero Zamora; her siblings, Rodrigo Quintero Montero, Dennis Quintero Montero, Julio Quintero Montero, Alvaro Quintero Montero; and our father Edwin Vargas Herrera.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her daughters, Sherry Herrera Campbell (Mark Campbell), Jacqueline Herrera Santos (Orlando Santos), Johanna Herrera Meade (Kevin Meade), and Jessica Herrera McGinty (Brian Mcginty); grandchildren, Erica Campbell Scruggs, Noelle Lisette Campbell, Sierra Lorraine Campbell, Camille Celine Campbell, Gabriel Edwin Santos, Julian Michael Santos, Asher Moon Herrera Meade, Indigo Sky Herrera Meade, Alexia Summer Rigney, Micheal Bailey Raines; great grandchildren, Campbell David Scruggs, Lucas Davis Scruggs, and Reed Micheal Rigney.
A funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
