Opal Alford, 86, entered into rest on Friday, January 23, 2015.
Mrs. Alford was born on December 23, 1928 in Florida. She retired from the Houston County Board of Education after fifteen years of service. Her loving husband of sixty-six years, John Lafayette Alford, Jr. and parents, Allison and Katherine Story, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her devoted children, John L. Alford, III, (Deitra), Kathleen, Georgia and Janet Mould (George), Young Harris, Georgia; grandchildren, Amy Shelton, Senoia, Georgia; Jennifer Burns (Brad), Marshall, North Carolina and Jason Orleman, Young Harris, Georgia and great grandchildren, Justin and Jesse Ford, Robbie Lunsford and Bradley Parker.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
