Palmer Hunt Craig, Jr.

Palmer Hunt Craig, Jr., 84, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 14, 2012.

Mr. Craig was born on June 21, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Pete Joiner Sunday School Class. Palmer graduated from P.K. Yonge High School and with a Master's degree in Engineering from the University of Florida. With pride and honor, Mr. Craig served his country in the United States Air Force. Subsequent to his military duty, he retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked as an Engineer. He was a member of the Audubon Society, Wilderness Society, and the Sierra Club. He also volunteered with the Museum of Aviation, was a Registered Amateur Radio Operator and a Master Gardener. His parents, Palmer Hunt Craig, Sr. and Hediwig Feltner Craig; sister, Jeannie Bullock; and grandson, Franklin Hobbs, all preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Peavy Craig, Warner Robins; children, Nancy Peters-Benjamin (Roy) Kennesaw; Karen Elizabeth Steele, Suzanne Cox (Stephen) all of Jacksonville, Florida; John William Steele (Denise), Carrollton; Lenn Dukes and Vickie Gilly (John), all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kelley Peters, Christopher Peters, Emily White, Elizabeth Rainbeau, Ian Steele, Steven Gilly, Simon Gilly; great grandchildren, Safiya Aref, Logan Peters, Morgan White, Jackie White, Dylan Rainbeau, and Ethan Rainbeau.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until service time at McCullough Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to the American Red Cross, 346 Corder Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 or to the Wilderness Society, Attn: Membership Services, 1615 M Street N.W. Ste. 200, Washington D.C. 20036, or to the Audubon Society online at www.support.audubon.org.
