Patricia Lee Buchanan

Patricia Lee Buchanan, age 91, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. Born on June 3, 1932, in Whatley, Alabama, Patricia was the cherished daughter of William Curtis Sutton and Birdie Sutton.

Patricia's journey through life was marked by her commitment to caring for others, a passion that led her to graduate from Grove Hill High School and later from Rush Memorial Nursing School. Her dedication to the well-being of others manifested in a career as a nurse on Robins Air Force Base, where she served with unwavering commitment for over 20 years until her well-deserved retirement.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her green thumb and love for nature were evident in her thriving garden, where she delighted in cultivating tomatoes and peppers. She took solace in the beauty of the world around her, finding peace in watching birds. Among Patricia's greatest joys was the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patricia was also a member of NARFE, Senior Citizens Club, and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, where she participated in the Harmony Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John McQueen Buchanan; son, James William Buchanan; and sister, Lura Glass.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Richard Buchanan (Patty); daughter-in-law, Nancy Buchanan; grandchildren, Megan Lichty (Daniel), Meredith Mesko (Michael), Page Brumfield (Jeremy), and Curtis Buchanan (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Ayden and Charlie Buchanan, Margaret Rose Lichty, Brighton Mesko, Elizabeth Brumfield; sister, Martha Dumas; as well as several nieces, and nephews.

At the family’s request, all services held will be private. Patricia will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Patricia made be made to First Baptist Church of Warner Robins, 1135 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
