Paula Everett Rowntree passed away on the morning of August 25, 2025, at the age of 90.
Born on July 26, 1935, in Dooly County, Georgia, Paula was the daughter of the late Zeke and Lillian Harpe Everett. She graduated from Pinehurst High School and went on to attend business college. Paula worked in finance and retired from Farmer’s Home Furniture.
A longtime resident of Warner Robins, Paula was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church. With a love of music, Paula enjoyed singing in her independent living choir. Paula was also an active member of the XYZ Club and played Rummikub with friends at Summer’s Landing. Known for her independent spirit and speaking her mind, she always kept busy. Her love of food, especially a good steak, was well known and she never turned down a meal shared with loved ones.
Most of all, Paula cherished time spent with family, especially during get-togethers filled with laughter and conversations.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her first husband, Bonny S. Peavy; second husband, Richard Moore; and third husband, Earl Rowntree; and son, Danny Peavy; as well as sisters, Helen Collins, and Faye Kimbrough.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Terry Peavy (Karen) of Warner Robins, and Debbie Vartenisian (Mike) of Perry; grandchildren, Kristina Hilton (Drew) of Tampa, Florida, Bethany Hardee (Adam) of Kathleen, Brian Peavy of Lexington, Kentucky; Brooke Hering (Lee) of Dawsonville, Georgia, Michaela Bodenheimer (Nathan) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Landon Hardee, Lily Hardee, Finn Hering, and Fitz Hering; siblings, Ruth Cross and Jo Ann Sparrow of Unadilla; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Paula Everett Rowntree will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
