Peggy Louise Phillips, age 80, entered into rest on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Born on October 30, 1944, in McIntyre, Georgia, Peggy was the daughter of the late Theodore “Teddy” George Fitzlaff and Ollie Bell Day. After graduating high school, she began her career in a clerical position at Robins Air Force Base, where she worked for several years.
A devoted member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church, Peggy found joy, faith, and community alongside of her church family. She cherished the fellowship, worship, and many friendships she formed over the years.
Peggy also had a love for travel and adventure. She especially enjoyed trips to the Smoky Mountains, cruising the Alaskan coast, and relaxing on the shores of St. Simons Island.
At home, Peggy delighted in simple pleasures: fried pork chops, chocolate cake, and time spent with her loved ones. She had a special fondness for attending old car shows with her husband, David, where kept an eye out for her favorite — the classic '57 Chevy Bel Air; and attending dinner shows like Elvis Memories, Comedy Barn, and Hatfield and McCoys, which always brought a smile to her face.
Of all her joys in life, none compared to the time spent with her granddaughter, Bella Claire, affectionately known as her “little squirt.” Her love for her family was immeasurable, and her warmth and laughter will forever remain in their hearts.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her siblings, Brenda Mathis and Linda Lindsey.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband of 60 years, David Arter Phillips of Warner Robins; daughter, Cindy Bohannon (Sean); granddaughter, Bella Bohannon; and sister, Lisa Floyd; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Sandy Valley Baptist Church. Afterward, Peggy Louise Phillips will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
