Peggy A. Tyler

Early on the morning of Sunday, September 20, 2026, Peggy Anne Tyler, 86, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.

Peggy was born on June 3, 1940, in Cullman, Alabama, to Harmon and Oneida Jones Parker. She lived a life defined by devotion to her family, faithful service, and a caring spirit that touched the lives of many. Peggy shared a loving marriage with her husband, James Milton Tyler. Together, they were a proud Air Force family whose military journey led them to a variety of assignments throughout the years, including memorable time in Turkey; Dover, Delaware; Montgomery, Alabama; Cocoa Beach, Florida; and lastly, Warner Robins, Georgia. Through each move and assignment, Peggy built lasting friendships and created a welcoming home for those around her.

A woman of deep faith, Peggy was a dedicated and regular church attendee who formed close relationships within her church family. She was a long-time member of the Warner Robins Church of the Nazarene where she served as a church treasurer, greeter, and director of women’s ministries. She also founded the church food pantry. In recent years, she had begun attending First Evangelical Church of Macon. Peggy was known for supporting others both within her congregation and throughout the broader community. Her kindness, encouragement, and willingness to help those in need left a lasting impact on many lives. Peggy also had a lifelong love of fishing and was regarded by family and friends as quite accomplished at the sport. Her favorite fishing destination was Gulf Shores, Alabama, where she enjoyed spending time doing what she loved most.

Peggy is survived by her son, Michael Matthew Tyler; her grandsons, Brenden and Ben; her nephew, David, and his spouse, Jackie; her great-niece, Megan, and her husband, David; and her beloved great-great-nephews, William and Thomas, whom she loved very much. Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, faith, generosity, and the love she shared with family, friends, and her community. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

The funeral service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Peggy will will be laid to rest in Jones Cemetery in Falkville, Alabama on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
