Phil Clifton Horka

Phil Horka, 68, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Phil was born on January 27, 1958, in Sault St. Marie, Michigan to the late James McClain and Frances Horka.

Phil was a master woodworker whose craftsmanship reflected both skill and patience. Whether building a custom bookcase or shaping wood into something lasting and beautiful, he took pride in doing things the right way. A devoted outdoorsman, he loved spending time in a deer stand, he found beauty in the natural world.

Phil will be remembered by his quiet strength, for his steady presence, his hardworking spirit, and the care he poured into both his craft and the life he built. His legacy lives on in the pieces he created, the stories shared, and the peaceful moments he cherished.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances, his stepfather, Dave Horka, sister Tammy Drouillard, and stepson, David Brian Cribbs, Jr.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Paula Horka, daughters Brooke Kinser (Luke), Rachel Thompson (Tim), siblings, Trish Ann Cook, Kent Horka, Marc Horka, six grandchildren that were his world, along with a host of extended family members and friends.
