Phyllis Anita Prater, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on March 25, 2026, in Bonaire, Georgia, at the age of 67.

Born on May 26, 1958, in Tifton, Georgia, Phyllis was the daughter of the late John Tyson and Barbara Tyson. She was a loving mother, devoted nana, and cherished friend to many.

Phyllis had a servant’s heart and found great joy in caring for others through her work as a hairdresser. She built lasting relationships with those she served, always offering kindness, conversation, and a listening ear. She had a deep love for laughter and was known for bringing smiles and lighthearted moments to those around her. Outside of her work, she embraced life with a sense of adventure. She enjoyed scuba diving, playing softball, and spending time with animals, all of which brought her great happiness.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Jesse Prater and his fiancée, Lisa Sur, and John Prater and his significant other, Jess Pietzold; her grandchildren, Michael Prater, Kinslee Williams, Kaiden Prater, Riley Prater, and Ashlyn Prater; and her brother, Greg Tyson and his wife, Beth Tyson.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, Georgia. A time for family and friends to gather will begin at 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.
