Phyllis J. Rosenmeier, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the age of 81.

Phyllis was born on September 8, 1942, in Gibson County, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late W. Lloyd DeFur and J. Grace Hedges DeFur.

Phyllis married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Col. Harvey Orville Rosenmeier. Together they embarked on a life of service to their country and community. As Col. Rosenmeier served in the United States Air Force, Phyllis served the military family community in a variety of volunteer positions, including as the president of the Randolph Air Force Base Officer’s Wives Club in Texas. She also owned and operated Linda Welde’s in Warner Robins for several years.

Phyllis was also known for her love of literature and culinary skills. Family and friends were always eager to gather around her table and enjoy her delicious meals. One of Phyllis’ favorite pastimes was cherishing family vacations, particularly those spent by the beach.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband of 61 years, Col. Harvey Orville Rosenmeier, USAF (Ret.) of Warner Robins; children, Steven Rosenmeier (Angela) of Sumter, South Carolina, Lisa Kyriakos (Takis) of Athens, Greece, and Melissa Pauls (Tony), of Cleveland, North Carolina; grandchildren, Robert Garrison, III (Amanda), Caroline Garrison, Zech Rosenmeier, Raygen Taylor, Ryan Rosenmeier (Karla), Alexis Taylor; great-grandchildren, Cade, Camryn, and Tripp.

A memorial gathering for Phyllis’ family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Phyllis J. Rosenmeier will be laid to rest privately.
