Plemon Donzell "Donnie" Owens Jr.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, Donnie Owens entered into rest after 55 years of sharing life with his loving family.

Donnie was born on July 18, 1964, in Winter Haven, Florida. In the 10 years preceding his death he lived in Byron, Georgia. He was a welder who could fix anything and in his free time he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Throughout his life his easy-going personality drew others to him; Donnie was said to have never met a stranger.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Betty Owens, and his parents, Plemon and Sarah Owens.

Donnie’s memory will forever be cherished by his children, Brandi Lynn Whidden (Jeremy) of North Augusta, South Carolina, and Kaleb Owens of Douglas, Georgia; his grandchildren, Jordan Whidden, Jackson Whidden, Addison Owens, Daci Owens and Daylin Owens; and his sisters, Brenda Crutchfield, Patricia Taylor and Lynn Bishop.

A graveside memorial service for Donnie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to a fund benefiting Donnie Owens. These gifts can be made payable to McCullough Funeral Home with “Donnie Owens Memorial Fund’ written in the memo line.
