Raymond Earl Brown, 78, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 after a short illness.
Raymond was born on December 15, 1936 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Tyrell W. and Verlittta Cherry Brown. He was a graduate of Lanier High School in Macon before serving his country for three years in the United States Air Force. Raymond continued his career with the military working at Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant for 36 years. He was a 70 year resident of South Bibb County and a lifelong member of Avondale Baptist Church. Raymond loved playing golf with his friends, watching sports, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and tinkering in his shop. His sense of humor was a favorite attribute of all who knew him.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 39 years, Nicole D. Brown; children, Raymond Anthony "Tony" Brown (Amy) of Cary, Ricky Brown (Kim) of Roberta, Sophia Wynne of Oglethorpe, Mike Lyles (Linda) of Savannah, Lisa Lyles Williams of Bonaire, Jack Lyles of Fort Valley; grandchildren, Corey Brown, Katelyn Brown, Brittney Brown, Wesley Brown, Michael Lyles, Jerome Lyles, Nicole Waddell, Jessica Lyles, Christina Lyles, Amy Todd (Levi), James Dustin Williams; 13 great-grandchildren; and his beloved cat Percy.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Avondale Baptist Church with interment following in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given In Memory of Raymond Earl Brown to Avondale Baptist Church 6970 Cochran Field Road, Macon, GA 31216.
