Raymond Matthew Paul

May 31, 1949 — May 7, 2022

Raymond Paul, 72, joined his Lord and Savior in heaven on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Raymond was born on May 31, 1949, in Germany to the late Johann and Elisabeth Paul. At the age of seven, Ray and his family arrived in the United States in hopes of living a better life. Ray loved music and played rhythm guitar for a band called “The Dropouts.” He joined the United States Air Force at the age of 19 where he served with honor for 23 years until his retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed his time spent serving his country, which was evident by his numerous enlistments which allowed him to visit many different countries. Ray was stationed in Hawaii at Hickam Air Force Base and also spent time at a NATO base in the Netherlands called Monchengladbach. Ray loved hunting, shooting and just being outdoors. His last assignment brought him to Robins Air Force Base where he retired and lived with his parents for over 30 years. Ray was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Elisabeth Henry (Robert) and John Helfrich.

His memory will forever be treasured by his brother, Heinz Paul (Marie); sister-in-law, Maryann Helfrich; and nieces and nephews, Kathy Morgan (Manly), Chris Henry, Robert Henry Jr., Kevin Henry (Deena), J.J Helfrich, Tracey Whitehead (Jeremy) and Mari Blindstrup (Ian).
