Rev. Frank E. Sparks, Sr.

Rev. Frank E. Sparks, Sr. made his transition from this earthly life and was heaven bound to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. He was 91 years old.

Born on November 2, 1926 in Crittenden, Kentucky, Frank E. Sparks was one of 21 children to the late Warnie and Jennie Frazer Sparks. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, and worked as a machinist with Columbiana National Rubber Company in Columbiana, Ohio for a number of years. Rev. Sparks was called by God to preach the Word and on April 14, 1963, he entered ministry full time and became the pastor of Way, Truth, and Life Full Gospel Church in Bonaire, Georgia with his late wife, Rev. Ruth A. Sparks. Rev. Sparks’ deep love for the Lord and for his family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by sons, Roger and Jim Sparks; and 13 siblings.

Rev. Sparks’ memory will forever be treasured by his loving children, Sandy Lawrence of Seaboard, North Carolina, Juanita Cushman (Ron) of Salem, Ohio, Ruth Hampson (Joseph) of Kathleen, Janet Smith (Wayne) of Roberta, Frank Sparks, Jr. of Crittenden, Kentucky, Milton Sparks of Aurora, Missouri, and Robert Sparks of Columbiana, Ohio; 34 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren;14 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley VanDePass, Diane Walls, Jerry Sparks, Stella Hinkle, Kenny Sparks, Alice Johns, Barb Watkins, and Mary Slone; and a host of extended family members.

Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Way, Truth, Life Full Gospel Church in Bonaire. After the service, Rev. Sparks will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery next to Ruth.
