Rev. Lowell R. Smith

Lowell Randell Smith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will not be forgotten.

Lowell was born on June 1, 1940, in Albany, Georgia, to Clifford C Smith Sr. and Amy Virginia Parker Smith. He graduated from Albany High School in 1959 and later served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966.

After his time in the military, Lowell built a life marked by hard work and dedication. He retired from the City of Fort Valley Wastewater Department after many years of faithful service. More importantly, he devoted his life to ministry, serving as a pastor in the Church of God for nearly six decades. His commitment to the Gospel and to people was evident in every season of his life.

Lowell loved his family deeply. He is survived by his loved ones, including Barbara A. Smith (Driskell), Nathan L. Smith (Christina Case), Vonda L. Anderson (George), and Jarvis R. Smith (Maureen). He was a proud grandfather to Elizabeth Crabb (Cody), Justin Smith (Megan), and Kristin Smith. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Isabella (Pnut), Emily, EJ, Kenton, and Judah.

He also shared a special bond with Yvonne (Boobon) Edwards and Sheila Elliott, who were like family to him and held a dear place in his heart.

Lowell was a man who found joy in the simple things. He loved his family, enjoyed westerns, and spent time gardening. He had a warm spirit and never met a stranger. His life was a reflection of genuine kindness, steady faith, and a heart that welcomed everyone.

Above all, Lowell loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched through his ministry, his family, and his everyday walk.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Andersonville National Cemetery.
