After retiring from Burroughs, Mr. Pope went to work for his wife, BJ. Central Baptist Church was his church home. Mr. Pope served Central as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and a member of Fred Smelts' (Jeanette Watson) Sunday School class. His parents, Cowart Pope and Vesta Speights Pope, and brother, Cowart Pope, Jr., preceded him in death.
