Richard L. Heaton, III, 28, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2008.
Richard was born on March 12, 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a student at Macon State College and the founder of the Macon State Chess Club. He earned his Coast Guard hundred ton Captains license where he ran jack up boats in oil fields in the Gulf. Skydiving was his passion.
Survivors include his father, Dr. Richard L. Heaton, Jr. (Becky), Perry; mother, Sharanne Heaton, Panama City Beach, Florida; brothers, Robert Heaton (Courtney), Charleston, South Carolina and Randall Heaton (Michelle), Tallahassee, Florida; step-sister, Nancy Massingille, Warner Robins; Paternal grandparents, Richard L. and Mary Lee Heaton, Sr., Atlantic Beach, Florida and Maternal grandmother, Wilhelmina Ashley, Savannah.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 13, 2008, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
