Richard Lucas Moody, born October 18, 1942, in Coleman, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors.
Richard was the son of the late Charles Moody II and Virginia Elver Moody. After graduating from high school, he continued his education and earned a Master’s Degree.
In his younger years, Richard and his brother, Charles, shared formative experiences working at Yellowstone National Park, an adventure that helped shape his appreciation for nature. He later built a long and steady career in contracting within the civil service, serving at Robins Air Force Base for 25 years, where he was known for his reliability and professionalism.
Richard found great joy in hunting and fishing, passions that allowed him to spend time outdoors and connect with others who shared his interests. He was a proud member of the Central Georgia Bass Club, where he enjoyed both the sport and the camaraderie.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by brothers, Fred Moody and Charles Moody, III.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Katherine Elizabeth Bohler (Dennis) of Elizabeth, Colorado and Paul Oliver Moody of Jensen Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren; and sister, Ingrid Ann DeGrassi.
