Richard Wayne Powell

Richard Powell, 54, went to be with the Lord in heaven on the morning of Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

Richard was born in Wareham, Massachusetts, son of the late Glenn and Eileen May Powell. For many years, he was a Patient Care Technician at Houston Medical Center and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Powell was an avid Georgia Football and Atlanta Braves fan and followed every game on television. He also enjoyed watching old Western shows and movies.

Richard leaves his memory behind with his wife of nearly five years, Emma Powell of Warner Robins; stepchildren, Matt Johnson and Martha Williams (Robert), both of Warner Robins, Renee Childree of Perry, and Richard Tuggle of Lilburn; grandchildren, Vannessa, Alton, Robbie, and Valerie Williams, and Juliet Smith; siblings, Kathy Klingler (Steve) of Bonaire, Kevin Powell (Shawn) of Haynesville, and Kristen Wright of Warner Robins; and a many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27th at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3642 Hwy 41 N, Byron, GA 31008 with Pastor Jim Scott officiating. At the family's request, the burial will be private.
