Robert "Bobby" Lee Campbell, Jr.

January 17, 1948 — March 14, 2024

Warner Robins

Robert “Bobby” Lee Campbell, Jr., 76, entered into rest on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Bobby was born on January 17, 1948, in Nashville, Georgia to the late Robert Lee Campbell, Sr. and Carolyn Coleman. Bobby’s wife, Debby, passed away when his only son, Mathew, was only 7 years old. Bobby never remarried and as a result, raised Mathew along with the many roofing brothers he had. "The" Bobby Campbell Roofing Company was a family. Bobby would take nearly any walk of life as long as they worked hard and didn't fill up the water cooler with "hose water", which was a terminal offense. His men were proud to be a part of this family and took pride in their work. At one time, he had amassed the largest crew in middle Georgia, and you can be assured they were "the best". Most of the guys needed money at the end of each day, so Bobby always had cash on hand. If you had a driver's license, you were very respected because you had to pick up most of the crew. If you ever made the driver mad, let's just say you probably weren’t going to make it home or to work the next day. They fussed and fought, and you would have thought they hated one another by the way they talked to each other. They competed daily, like who could tote the most shingles, and who was the fastest. If you missed even one nail, you were going to lose. (1 tap 1set x3 next).

Bobby loved the river. He loved fishing and floating in the sunshine. Especially with friends and his brother, Danny. Bobby and Danny loved each other like brothers should. Danny worked for Bobby and had a driver's license; you know he stayed in good graces. Most of all, Bobby loved to work and loved his working brothers. He was a people pleaser and have been told that he never made an enemy. Bobby has family in Dodge Co, Fitzgerald, Kennesaw and has family from Warner Robins through his marriage. Some of his wife's family worked with him as well.

The friends that Bobby made over the years are countless. Most of the friends he had growing up are still some of the family’s closest friends to this day, and we are sure as many as can get there, will be there.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Debby Campbell and brothers, Perry Daniel “Danny” Campbell, and Johnny Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Sandy Valley Baptist Church.
