Robert Presley Cruthirds, 89, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Robert was born on July 23, 1937, in Mobile, Alabama, to the late Randle and Beulah Cruthirds. He graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile and went on to pursue higher education at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and the University of Southwest Alabama in Livingston, Alabama.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to be an educator at Warner Robins High School for 33 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church for many years. He deeply loved the Lord and his church family.

Robert was a member of a number of clubs and lodges, including the Houston County Retired Educators Association, the Georgia State Retired Educators Association, the American Legion Post 172 in Warner Robins, Georgia, the Ocmulgee Chapter Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, and the Central Georgia Genealogical Society.

Robert will be remembered for his devotion to his country, his community, and, most importantly, his family.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steve Kaminski, and his sister-in-law, Kay S. Cruthirds.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra J. Cruthirds; his children, Charles David Cruthirds of Canton, GA, Susan Rachel Kaminski of Cumming, GA, and Randle Louis Cruthirds (Stephanie) of Warner Robins, GA; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie Kaminski, Ashley Nicole Cruthirds, John Blake Cruthirds, Avery Brandon Cruthirds, Alexis Michaela Cruthirds, Olivia Grace Cruthirds, Ava Paisley Cruthirds, and Allison Nichole Cruthirds; his great-grandchildren, Samuel Connor Cruthirds, Jayden Collin Cruthirds, Bryson Hunter Cruthirds, Cameron Wyatt Cruthirds, and Aubree Ruth Cruthirds; and his brother, Byron Louis Cruthirds; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, a funeral service will take place in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Robert will then be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Robert to Second Baptist Church at 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
