Ronald Baggett

February 6, 1942 — January 11, 2019

Ronald J. Baggett, a faithful man of God, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 11, 2019. He was 76 years old.

Ron was born on February 06, 1942 in Rentz, Georgia to the late Bernard Jean Baggett and Reva Williams Baggett. He attended Dublin High School and was the quarterback of the football team. Ron, an excellent athlete, led the team to victory in the state championship. He also served as the captain of the basketball team. Ron loved and excelled in sports, and he was honorably inducted into the Dublin High School Football Hall of Fame. He attended Norman Park College on a basketball scholarship. He began his career at Citizen State Bank and continued working in the banking industry until his retirement. Ron was a people person and enjoyed serving customers throughout his career.

In his retirement, Ron enjoyed spending time with his friends and pursuing his passion for golf. He played almost every day. Ron was a long-time and faithful member of Second Baptist Church, and he served as a devoted and mature follower of Christ. Ron adored his wife of 41 years, Trudy, and his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. His family said that as a parent, he was all truth but as a grandparent, he was all grace.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Trudy Baggett; children, Chip Baggett (Carroll) of Kathleen, Jeff Baggett (Joyce Nickoles) of Bonaire, Ben Baggett of Atlanta, Kevin Baggett (Christie) of Kathleen, and Amy Lauritsen (Keith) of Warner Robins; and grandchildren, Jennie, Emily, Benjamin, Evana, Olivia, R.J, Caroline, Charlotte, Molly, Matthew, Mark; great-grandchild, Amelia; and sister, Peggy Woods of Fernandina Beach.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 13, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Second Baptist Church.
