Ronald Wayne Kennedy, 78, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.
Ronald was born on February 7, 1948, in Henderson, Tennessee, to the late Clifford and Olliedean Kennedy. After graduating from high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served his country for 20 years.
Following his military retirement, Ronald continued his dedication to public service through a 20-year career in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked until his retirement.
Ronald enjoyed a life filled with the activities he loved most. He was an avid hunter, skilled woodworker, and enthusiastic golfer. He rarely missed an opportunity to watch his favorite sports teams and always appreciated the simple pleasures of spending time outdoors. Above all, Ronald treasured the time he spent with his family and created many cherished memories with those he loved.
Ronald will be remembered for his service to his country, his strong work ethic, his love of family, and the kindness and friendship he shared with others throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Kennedy; son, Steve Kennedy; and granddaughter, Deanna Whidby
His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Sarah Franklin (Allen), Freddy Brant (Mistie), and Kai Whidby; grandchildren, Lauren, Emma, Ally, Haley, and McKenna; sister, Shirley Gaddy; and daughter-in-law, Denise Kennedy.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ronald will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
